Pick one of the president's of the United States MS: Rosemary
George Washington was the first president of the United States. He was a Virginia planter.
Also he pursued two intertwined intersts: militan/arts and western expansion. George Washington was president from April 30,1789,George Washington came from westmoreland
county,Virginia. At the time of the Philadelphia Convention, the nationalists wanted Gorge Washington to be the first president and the monarchists wanted him to be the first King. So
it was pretty well desided that, one wayor another, Washington was going to be in charge after
the Constitution was ratified.
